Haley & Matt’s Winter Wedding

March 18, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

Haley and Matt were married in November of 2019, and these two are super-fun, energetic and adventure-loving. We liked them immediately when they toured our place on a cold, rainy winter evening and they in turn knew immediately that Chatham Station was where they wanted to wed. The architectural and industrial aspects and the vibe suited them, so right off the bat, we all said “we do!”

The mood of their entire event was as cool, edgy and down-to-earth as they are.

They took time to grab lots and lots of photos with their attendants and photographer in downtown Cary.

Pre-Ceremony Fun

Prior to the ceremony, Haley, her bridesmaids and family enjoyed plenty of laughter and fun in our dressing suites and we loved hosting them. The photographer was also able to get lovely bridal shots of Haley in our space.

A lace, vintage-inspired gown with jewels, flowers on a gorgeous bride.

The couple shared a First Look and Matt was so clearly moved seeing his bride-to-be. They even included their attendants in the moment, which made it feel even more fun and special.

The Ceremony

The ceremony itself was also very moving with nods to the traditional. The guests faced our wall with the industrial fan flanked by two cylinder shaped asymmetrical pillars built by Haley’s dad and masterfully decorated by Lilac Floral Decor.

Haley has an excellent eye, so the elements that she chose for the day had lots of deep autumn colors, textures and striking details. Haley’s bridal party wore burnt orange velvet gowns and carried bouquets the included, among other things, dried flowers and pampas grass.

The Details & Reception

The decor for guests ranged from farmhouse tables with low arrangements to round tables adorned with deeply colored linens in burgundy and gold with flower arrangements containing a diverse selection of grasses, flowers, and other dried elements.

Design was a big part of this day and this couple combined not only colors and textures, but modern and traditional elements and themes. Everywhere you looked you saw fall colors mixed with rustic elements and modern flair.

Haley and Matt danced all night with their guests. They barely left the dance floor thanks to DJ Ones and a constant selection of fabulous music.

The Send-Off

These two are a party on the move and left their day in style with glowsticks and dancing. Congrats to you both Haley and Matt! Come celebrate an anniversary with us!

A Romantic Winter Wedding

March 4, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

We’ve been sharing the weddings of some of our very first couples to book Chatham Station, and remembering and celebrating them has been a wonderful little stroll down memory lane. It reminds us that while they only pass through our venue and our lives one time, for them, this is a unique place in their lives. It’s also a reminder that not all weddings are sunshine, June, and accommodated by Mother Nature. That doesn’t mean, however, that the event isn’t grand.

Ashley and Marcus wanted a romantic winter wedding in December of 2018 and that’s what we gave them. You would never know from the wonderful photographs that the weather wasn’t hitting its mark or saying its lines. It was dark, rainy and chilly, but these two were so joyous that with the right use of our awning, transparent umbrellas and great lighting, their day was perfectly captured.

Ashley and Marcus chose colors and elements that set a completely romantic tone for the evening with navy and bluish hues, and tons of candlelight. Any unwelcome weather was overtaken by the glow inside.

A Warm Ceremony

This sweet, easy-going couple chose a gold hoop designed by Every Bloomin Thing, accented with delicate roses and hydrangeas for the ceremony backdrop. They then added loads of candlelight. Cylinders of varying heights with water and floating candles were artfully placed as part of the backdrop and throughout the hall.

For the backs of the chairs, small hoops that mimicked the backdrop were made as accents.

Marcus was clearly moved when he saw Ashley and again became misty-eyed during their vows, but both were beaming as they walked back down the aisle to cheers from their friends and family.

The Reception

Even in December, this couple chose a dramatic entrance for their reception, coming in from outside through one of our bay doors. After dancing with their parents, they shared a first twilight dance together. The toasts and mingling that followed were in keeping with their sweet and calm personalities and the tone for their day.

While small bites for dessert are popular these days, and our couple did have a little “cookies and milk moment,” Ashley and Marcus chose an entirely traditional cake with tiers to cut and share with their guests.

Congratulations

For a wedding in December that could have been about the temperatures and the weather, this one was a success due to the couple. All the best to you, Ashley and Marcus. While Chatham Station was only a part of the first day of your marriage, we’re proud to be a part of your story forever.

Liz & Asa’s Spring Wedding

February 19, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

The Couple

“We had nothing but trust and a rendering, and the venue exceeded our expectations.”

Liz and Asa were our first couple! They hired us to be the venue for their April 2019 wedding, and signed a contract no less, even though Chatham Station was still under construction. That show of faith is just one example of what makes this couple the very epitome of kindness and thoughtfulness. Their support of Cary and the surrounding area extended not only to us, but they kept their vendor choices as local as possible too.

The Ceremony

Couples who marry at Chatham Station have options, and some prefer to enter through our bay doors to an aisle indoors. Liz chose to be escorted outside to Asa and onto our patio, and it was an elegant choice for a spring wedding.

We opened several bay doors, and as the bride and attendants emerged, there was a light April breeze lifting the sheer curtains. Guests sat on benches, runway style, facing the bride and groom and the custom geometric backdrop they chose with boho-inspired florals was a perfect choice. The weather and temperatures were as if ordered specifically too.

The Reception & Details

A Gown in need of a Bride…
Welcome to the New World of Marriage!

This couple was treated not only to sunshine for their vows, it shined on them through the bay doors during the reception where they were treated to adoring toasts from their friends. They entered the reception dancing and wanted guests seated toward the smaller side of the interior so that there was plenty of room for others to dance later as well.

The flower arrangements were thoughtfully designed to fit the aesthetics of the venue, and the couple’s “memory table” with family photographs was also embellished with artful floral choices. Liz and Asa made every spot a place of inclusion and celebration.

Like other couples who are married at Chatham Station, Liz and Asa had their photographer, in this case the amazing and local Morgan Caddell, capture images of them downtown, beyond our wedding space. We encourage this as a part of showcasing your big day and taking advantage of streets scenes, historic architecture and murals.

If their faith in us is even a fraction of their faith in their love and each other, then we expect these two to have decades of anniversaries in their future. Thanks Liz and Asa for letting us host your big day!

Kat & Kyle’s Intimate Wedding

February 5, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

The Couple

Kat and Kyle are an adorable pair who tied the knot at Chatham Station just around Thanksgiving, in November of 2019. With Kyle’s Southern charm and Kat’s incredible Colombian warmth and unbridled enthusiasm, they were celebrated on a perfect day, even one that came with a little rain.

Kat’s young daughter was a big part of their day and enjoyed getting dressed up along with her mom and members of Kat’s immediate family in our dressing suite. Kat herself loves to be busy and was really struggling not to jump in to assist the Chatham staff.

The Ceremony

These two kept their ceremony intimate and very traditional. They chose to have a first touch rather than a first look. They also kept the guest list small, with only their families and closest friends.

For the ceremony, gorgeous live music was provided by a string trio, and they chose a large floral arch to anchor the space for their vows.

After the I Dos, the new family walked back down the aisle together. Kat’s daughter was thrilled to be such a special part of the ceremony and day.

The Reception

Husband and wife entered their reception through a bay door, greeted and thanked their guests and enjoyed an evening of dancing and celebrating. During the cocktail hour, the live string trio that played for the ceremony also played for mingling guests, as well as for the couple’s first dance as Mr. and Mrs Nance.

The lush floral ceremony arch was repurposed for the reception as backdrop for the sweetheart table. Kat’s younger brother acted as DJ, which she loved.

The non-traditional wedding dessert: tiered and drizzled bundt cakes!

We loved hosting their special evening. All the best to Kat, Kyle and cheers to new beginnings!

Ashley & Zack’s Elegant & Modern Wedding

January 22, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

What An Entrance!

The Couple

If the image above tells you anything, it’s that this couple is not afraid to live big. They entered their reception with a fabulous dance number that impressed and delighted their guests. Transfer that energy to every detail of their day and you have Ashley and Zack!

These two live in dynamic Chicago, but their ties to Cary, NC brought them back for their October wedding last year. They brought elegance, vibrance and fun with them and were extremely hands-on and intentional with their day and all of the details that made it special.

The Ceremony

Couples with a vision create amazing wedding day memories and these two are not only deeply in love, but it was evident that those in attendance were extremely important to them too.

After Zack walked to the front of the aisle, he took time to greet their large wedding party who were filing in and made everyone feel warmly welcomed. When the sheer curtains were drawn to reveal Ashley, however, he and others were clearly moved. In that moment, this fun-loving couple was ready to say their vows with solemnity and grace.

From behind the veil …

Ashley was graceful in a sleek, modern, sleeveless form-fitting white gown that included a dramatic veil and train. She carried an all white bouquet, featuring primarily roses and anemones.

The Reception

As previously mentioned, Ashley and Zack made a grand entrance from the patio into the reception space and danced before their 170 guests. Their nearest and dearest loved it and clearly they had fun too!

After dances with their parents, the couple sat at a beautifully decorated exposed wood head table and listened to several emotional toasts from loved ones. The sense of togetherness and inclusion was infused throughout the evening.

The Details

Ashley and Zack were bold in their decor choices. From the tables adorned with two dimensional gold floral chargers, to the navy and gold accents in napkins and acrylic signs placed throughout the space, the couple branded their wedding with loads of personal flair.

Ashley and Zack selected elements that would enhance their guests’ experiences, even crafting some of the wedding day accessories themselves. The wooden arbor that the couple stood before to say their vows was lit and decorated with flowers, but the piece itself was hand-made by Zack’s father from locally sourced railroad ties just for the occasion. He also created the wooden mug board that greeted guests.

The reception spilled out onto the patio, where guests partied under the autumn stars, courtesy of a lovely clear tent lit from within. And finally, the couple was sent off with sparklers and cheers. It was an amazing night and we were so happy to be a part of it.

Missy & Ricky’s Spring Wedding

January 8, 2020 by cs_admin Leave a Comment

The Couple

Missy and Ricky were childhood sweethearts who promised to be together forever and, well, after thirteen years, here they are – getting married. Chatham Station had the honor of being the venue for their elegant and intimate wedding in May of last year.

The Ceremony

These two made wonderful use of our space during the day. Guests arrived through the courtyard to be seated, and Missy was escorted in through one of the enormous bay doors and down the aisle leading her to the groom. The couple chose to be married against the brick wall, where they were bathed in natural light during their vows.

The pre-ceremony first look!
At Page-Walker Hotel

Before guests arrived, Missy and Ricky were able to slip away for a few moments with their photographer to capture beautiful garden images at nearby historic Page-Walker Hotel.

Unique Details

Details that made this ceremony special included a collection of images from the couple’s travels displayed for all to view, an artful acrylic welcome sign as guests arrived through the well-appointed courtyard entryway, and a particularly striking navy settee that the couple used at their table during toasts. There was also their color palette, greenery and decor – all thoughtfully selected for a spring ceremony. Navy, dusty blue, white, and cream were mixed with pale pinks and others florals from Sweet SaraBelle, including classic flowers and anemones. The outdoor decor was from Greenhouse Picker Sisters and guest tables were dressed with classic linens, decorative plates and an assortment of centerpieces, such as lanterns enveloped by wreaths of flowers and greenery.

A striking gold metal ceremony arbor doubled as backdrop for dessert table.

Enjoying a glass of champagne alone on the patio…

The Send Off

These two were celebrated until the last moment, and their goodbye was complete with a dip, pop streamers, and glorious cheers.
All the best to you both, Missy and Ricky. Here’s to your forever plan, in good health!
