Rebecca & Ryan

February 9, 2023 by Chatham Station

Just over a year ago in January of 2022, Rebecca  and Ryan said their I Dos. These two are amazing. Both are physical therapists in the Triad and they worked, caring for others at all hours, and during the worst of the pandemic. We were thrilled to be the place for them to join together and make it official.

For their day, the weather was cooperative – even for January – so guests were able to enjoy our patio, as well as indoor spaces during the ceremony and reception. Rebecca and Ryan were visibly joyful before, during and after their vows and loved seeing how each part of their big day transpired. We love it when the air is full of expectation, then excitement and then celebration.

Rebecca’s gown was spectacular. It showcased layers and layers of floral lace from the bodice down through to a full skirt. She donned a pearl necklace that her father had given her mother when they first started dating. Her mom also had a handkerchief made to hold around the wedding bouquet, and it showed the wedding dates of her parents, Ryan’s parents, the couple’s own wedding date.

The Ceremony

They chose to do a first touch and read each other letters, instead of a first look and it was worth it. When Ryan saw Rebecca coming down the aisle in the afternoon sunlight, it was magic. The filmy sheer curtains, the gold hoop draped with white flowers, along with the burgundy and blue wedding party made for a pretty glorious picture. They used our neighboring florist, Cary Florist, who absolutely delivered with wintry white florals and deep green foliage.

Their original wedding photographer had a baby the day before their wedding, but they had arranged a back-up and the images are lovely! Rebecca and Ryan stole away to several local places for urban photo backdrops, which fit beautifully with their photographer’s style.

The Reception & Party

The couple shared a beautiful first dance at sunset, and then proceeded to enjoy the more fun and traditional elements of a reception. They were also thrilled with Willis J Entertainment, who kept the party going till the sun was completely gone.

They also shared a private, last dance before their big send off. Rebecca: “I encourage all couples to do that. It’s more relaxed and intimate than the first dance with everyone watching, and it gives you a moment to slow down the night.”

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendor list!

Daniela and Zane

December 21, 2022 by Chatham Station

Chatham Station proudly hosted the reception of Daniela and Zane. The pair were married at another location and then came to us for The Party and post-vow celebration. It was beautiful, moody and absolutely dreamy.

The couple looked incredible, with Zane in a black suit and Daniela in an absolute knockout of a ball gown. Once everyone had arrived at Chatham Station, Daniela’s father gave a blessing, friends gave toasts and the party began!

We dressed Chatham with white table linens, and black plates, napkins, and candlesticks. It was classic and elegant and complemented by the florals throughout the venue, thanks to Magnolia Blooms. This couple used our herringbone back drop – again festooned with gorgeous florals – as an anchor for the room. Their three-tiered cake was perfection. For every simple element, these two chose coordinating WOW moments elsewhere – like warm golden light to balance the white and black.

A Mariachi Band performance during the cocktail hour, and Daniela even joined in! When it was time to dance, they did. The bride and groom had first dances with their parents and then Daniela and Zane danced while their DJ played incredible music. Everyone was on the dance floor before the night was over.

Congratulations to Daniela and Zane and cheers for many, many years to come.

Keisha and James

June 29, 2022 by Chatham Station

January 30th of this year saw the uniting of two beautiful families, and Chatham Station had the privilege of hosting and witnessing their new year nuptials.

A Family Affair

This day was not just about celebrating the union of Keisha and James but also their combined new family, including James’ son and daughter, and Keisha’s two daughters. We love a wedding that multiplies the joy with extra players… it was intimate and yet felt like an event. Keisha and James were keen to make sure the kids felt involved.

Prep Time!

Kiesha, along with her mom and daughters, got dressed and enjoyed some girl time in our bridal suite. Keisha wore a lace gown with an open back, lace illusion side cutouts, and a beautiful train. With her hair, jewelry, flowers and big smile, she was a knockout bride.

The Ceremony

Keisha’s father walked her down the aisle, where James was sporting an enormous smile. James and Keisha said their vows in front of our expansive brick wall (a favorite of brides and grooms) and they decorated the alter space with a massive array of blooms and greenery.

The couple had each of their children participate in a sand pouring ceremony to unite the families – with each member of the family adding their own individually colored sand. It was a lovely visual metaphor.

The newlyweds walked back down the aisle followed directly by their children to the song “We are Family.”

The ceremony space was replete with florals and the effect was spectacular. Aisles were marked with floral hoops, and then lined with floral arrangements. The epic floral backdrop for the vows was later repurposed for the couple’s table for the reception.

The Reception

While the most prominent colors were purple and gold, the florals were a collection of roses in pale pink, peach, light purple, and white, combined with light blooms and fresh greenery. This wedding also had a “Our Greatest Adventure” theme and guests were seated at tables featuring favorite or special locations that the couple had traveled to together.

The reception space was set up using elegant farm tables with golden legs, and tables held a few extra touches including a collection of gold candle holders, floral arrangements, gold rimmed chargers, menus, and table markers.

Keisha enjoyed both dances with her husband James as well as with her dad before dinner. After dinner, they cut their cake on a table featuring pictures of their parents. Guests enjoyed the rest of the evening at the photo booth and dancing and moved outside to heated seating areas or enjoyed the lounge set up inside.

While Keisha had beautiful white heels for the ceremony, she traded them out for comfortable purple and black jordans for the reception that matched James’ shoes!

All the best to Keisha, James and their beautiful family. Chatham Station loved hosting your incredible wedding and wish you many happy years ahead.

Odofoley & Ron

June 15, 2022 by Chatham Station

Odofoley and Ron planned a gorgeous morning wedding, and on the morning of New Year’s Eve at Chatham Station, they were wed! The decor was complete with touches of gold, black, white and rich red, but the atmosphere was magic. It was an intimate and elegant ceremony followed by brunch, where everyone celebrated this beautiful couple.

Odofoley’s gown had lace details on the bodice and sleeves, a jeweled belt, and a chiffon skirt. It was perfect for a winter wedding, and everyone kept talking about her sleeves. The wedding flowers were a collection of blooms including white roses, calla lilies and greenery, and Odofoley’s bouquet was not only exquisite, but the blooms matched the lace on her gown. The effect was lovely.

The Ceremony

The golden backdrop with cascading lights was absolutely perfect for these two on the last day of the year. Everything was awash in golden light. Even with an intimate group of attendees spread out, and everyone masked, the ceremony was everything you’d want – sweet, celebratory and heart-felt.

The Brunch Reception

For their small guest list, we divided the ceremony space from the reception space with a curtain that created a greater sense of intimacy. And these two were Covid-conscious, providing personalized masks with their names on them for each guest.

The space looked amazing as well, with a gold backdrop of cascading light, table-scapes with gold chargers, red napkins, and menus.

While this was a brunch wedding, it included all the customary traditions like a cocktail hour with passed appetizers, a lovely first dance to the song “Spend My Life with You,” and cake-cutting. It was clear that the couple was so focused on each other that it was like no one else was in the room. In addition to wedding cake the couple had a variety of fun cupcake flavors for guests to enjoy.

Odofoley and Ron, along with photographer Martha Smith Tillery, were able to get stunning pictures in front of Town Hall and the Court House here in Cary, still decorated from the Christmas holidays. They also took advantage of one of our favorite spots: the theatre marquee! They even had their names placed for the occasion.

A Swanky Exit

Ready for 2022 as newlyweds, these two departed Chatham Station in style, and by style, we mean a Rolls Royce. Guests sent them off with cheers and mini confetti poppers. Congratulations, Odofoley and Ron! Here’s to many happy decades of marriage and days of joy.

Ellyn & Joe

October 13, 2021 by Chatham Station

The Couple

Cary native, Ellyn married Joe in December 2020 in what was the sweetest ceremony. Since we had not yet begun to see the beginning of Covid decline, the couple opted for a small and intimate affair. They provided masks for guests to wear with their wedding hashtag #WalkingBrownTheAisle, laced up their Converse sneakers and met up at Chatham Station to say their vows.

Downtown Cary, outside the holiday decorations at Cary Arts Center.

A First Look

Ellyn was able to do a first look with both Joe and her father. The first look with her father was a very sweet moment, ending with him wrapping her up in his arms and smiling from ear to ear.

The Ceremony

The couple was keen on including as much family as possible on their special day. Ellyn’s brother Peyton officiated the ceremony, and her grandmother flew several hours, at a difficult time, to make sure she was there to witness Ellyn becoming a wife.

An intimate ceremony doesn’t mean there is no love or warmth from friends and family. In fact, you can make the argument that there is even more of both, especially during a universally rocky year. For their December ceremony, little touches of holiday color and green garlands were all it took to make the place feel magical. Bridesmaids, wearing seasonally perfect gowns in burgundy, carried lanterns with flowers down the aisle instead of traditional bouquets. The effect was lovely.

The couple’s flowers incorporated accents of reds, pinks and whites including gorgeous anemone. They even included paper flowers from the Harry Potter Books into their bouquets for a special touch and nod to their particular favorites.

The Reception & Details

Ellyn wore a beautiful fitted lace gown that had an illusion back with buttons running down the dress. After the ceremony the couple was able to share a sweet first dance in Chatham surrounded by their guests!

Details in the decor were simple, elegant and thoughtful. Ellyn’s family lived intermittently in Italy for the last few years and Ellyn and Joe wanted to include Italian influences for the day. The couple had wine boxes imported from Italy, which were used to line the aisle and added an elegant European touch.

Ellyn and Joe had their photographer, Veritas Digital, take amazing shots around the city of Cary, which was decorated for the holidays and added a fun element and memories of their day.

Congratulations and cheers to many happy decades of marriage to you both, Ellyn and Joe!
