Junele & Stephen

August 24, 2022 by Chatham Station

On August 8th of 2021, Junele and Stephen were married at a wedding like no other! Their energy should be bottled, and on this day, this couple were absolutely the best.

Junele and Stephen both wore green shoes on their wedding day, a fun touch considering that green was their signature color. Green was everywhere and absolutely beautiful. Extra draping was added throughout the ceremony space and reception area in deep green. Their floral arrangements were extravagant, lining the aisles and later used as the table centerpieces. Add chandeliers, candles and touches of white, and Chatham Station was transformed.

Junele walked down the aisle escorted by her mother and father, who also officiated the ceremony. The bride also made her son a significant member of the bridal party, the occasion, and the day. He stood next to Stephen during the ceremony. The couple were moved to tears during their vows, and when it was time for the bride and groom to kiss, Junele covered her dad’s eyes … adorable.

The Reception

Green and gold continued to set the tone for decor, with candlesticks in gold tapers, velvet napkins and lovely green linens. The atmosphere though was also joyous. This wedding party had so much energy. The reception was a party!

These two love karaoke, so it was a party of the reception, and Junele’s performance with her parents was a hit. Games, dancing, toasts and a sparkler send off completed the day.

After the ceremony the whole wedding party joined Junele and Stephen at the cinema where they took photos.

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendor list.

Valerie & Ian

July 27, 2022 by Chatham Station

Valerie and Ian were married in March of 2022 at Chatham Station, and we loved hosting this couple and executing their vision in our venue. The entire patio was tented, with bars both inside and out for guests during the reception. The couple’s decor choices were simple and elegant, with beautiful greenery, white blossoms and plenty of gorgeous details.

Preparations

Valerie and her bridesmaids got ready with the help of Wedded Kiss in our bridal suite. Her mom assisted and after she was ready, she had a first look with her bridesmaids. Valerie read a sweet heartfelt note to her girls thanking them for being a part of her day and sharing how much they all meant to her. It was really tender and sweet.

Valerie’s gown was unlike any we’ve seen. Made of chiffon with a sweetheart neckline, jeweled belt and ties on the shoulders, it was ethereal and feminine and completely romantic. . Paired with her veil, delicate hair piece, and pale blue shoes, she was a stunning bride.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful satin dresses. Since the couple did not have a first look, Ian and his groomsmen were able to enjoy a drink at Bond Brothers prior to the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Ian was beaming with excitement as Valerie walked down the aisle.

The couple had a live painter at the wedding. It was entertainment for the guests and created a perfect gift for the couple. The result, once finished, was dreamy.

The Party

Table numbers were labeled with special places the couple had been. It also included stories like their first date, where Ian asked Valerie to be his wife, their first home together and other special memories. The backdrop included a neon sign stating “Simply the best.” They included a farmhouse table set for two for a perfect sweetheart table!

Ian and Valerie shared a fun first dance filled with flips and flair. Later in the evening Valerie changed into a fun sparkling dress. The couple provided guests with LED wands at the end of the evening, and these were a hit.

Congratulations Valerie and Ian! Cheers to you both and to many happy decades ahead.

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendor list.

Serenity & Jeremy

April 13, 2022 by Chatham Station

Dear Wedding Fans!
Below is the final flourish: a reception one year after the original I Dos.

Serenity and Jeremy tied the knot at Chatham Station, and one year later, they returned to have the reception they wanted and deserved. These two were married in 2020, and due to the pandemic, they hosted 30 friends and family for a lovely, if not small, ceremony.

The Wedding – 2020

One upside of their small wedding was their ability to great shots of themselves outside in downtown Cary. And yes, we are back indeed!

See the entire wedding blog for Serenity and Jeremy.

The Reception – 2021

Even after a year, Serenity and Jeremy were filled with playfulness and excitement to see each other and their guests. They kept it simple and elegant with white linens, black napkins and soft greenery.

As guests arrived, the couple greeted and captured photos with them. There was such an element of celebration in everything. While this delayed reception was due to Covid, the results were big, inclusive and joyful.

The day included all the traditional celebrations, like first dances, toasts, cake cutting, and the bride’s bouquet toss. It was both a reception and a Happy Anniversary party like no other.

These two had fun during the cake cutting, putting frosting in each other’s faces. Serenity and her dad also shared a sweet moment during their father daughter dance.

During the evening, there was of course, more dancing, more toasts and even later the glowsticks came out. It was a party.

The night ended with a final song, punctuated with a sparkler exit. Serenity and Jeremy exited in a party bus!

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendor list.

Chelsea & Matthew

November 24, 2021 by Chatham Station

Chelsea and Matt’s wedding was so incredibly fun and joyful and we are particularly excited becauce Chelsea is a new member of the Chatham Station team. We love having her detail-oriented mind and creativity on board! On her wedding day to Matt, she was a vision of exuberance, and these two successful adults had the best day of their lives!

The pair met in Asheville, after Chelsea came north from Florida, where she grew up. They’re now settled in Raleigh with their beloved miniature Dachshund Maggie and a rescue cat called Binx.

Preparations & Details

The entire wedding party got ready at The Mayton Inn. Chelsea wore a lacy, off-the-shoulder gown that was exquisite on her. Chelsea’s mom helped her put on extra special details including a dachshund pin (for Maggie) given to Chelsea by her new mother-in-law, and a decorated horseshoe that her mother wore at her own wedding. It meant so much to her to have these items with her when saying I Do. The bridesmaids wore beautiful blush velvet dresses, with fluttery sleeves and flowing skirts. Matt’s groomsmen and groomswoman wore navy.

Chelsea appreciates, and excels in, presentation, and as a “Day of” wedding planner, the details and results of her planning were evident throughout the wedding and reception. They focused on having fun, but most especially family, and there were many personal touches.

Chelsea and Matt chose navy and blush with touches of gold as their palette, but it was the florals that had everyone talking. Roses in varying shades of pink, with greenery and touches of blue thistles adorned both tall and short centerpieces. Their simple and elegant three tiered cake also had touches of greenery, and it was displayed on a stand with gold intertwining gold rings atop navy lace linen, making it really stand out.

The Ceremony

Matt walked down the aisle with his mom, and Chelsea was escorted her dad and stepdad. Both men have played such important roles in her life and she wanted them both by her side. It was extremely touching.

Chelsea’s step mom gave a reading for the ceremony, and we witnessed a lot of tears and laughter from everyone (including the bride and groom) when Chelsea and Matt read personal vows to one another. It was a lovely moment. Afterwards, everyone was ready to party. And they did!!

Guests found the seating chart on a boxwood champagne wall that said, “From this moment on.” It was a beautiful and functional backdrop.

Chelsea and Matt employed the Southern folklore tradition of burying bourbon on-site, prior to their big day to ward off rain. It must have helped, because the predicted 70% chance of rain turned to a mere sprinkle on the day. For the reception, we set up the patio with fun games to keep guests entertained during cocktail hour. Everyone enjoyed playing giant sized Connect Four, Jenga and of course, Cornhole.

Finally, at the end of the evening, these two were sent off into the married world with cheers, sparklers and smooches!

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendors list!

Maggie & Kevin

September 29, 2021 by Chatham Station

Maggie and Kevin and Zoey and Teddy …. no this isn’t a play from the 1970s. This fabulous couple (along with their two adorable dogs) made it official after the pandemic forced them to reschedule their wedding twice. As it turns out, the third time really is the charm and we LOVED being their hosts.

Getting Ready

Maggie and her bridesmaids donned heart sunglasses for portraits while they were getting ready and each wore personalized robes. There was a lot of laughter and anticipation. Maggie’s gown was a striking beaded lace mermaid dress with a sheer bodice and long flowing train. Her bridesmaids wore warm blush dresses that complimented the neutral tones and elegance of the couple’s wedding palette.

Maggie and Kevin had a first look where they exchanged personal vows they had written for each other. They were already excited about the day and this little moment gave them time to share a private moment before the public ceremony.

The Ceremony

Maggie’s father walked her down the aisle and the bride’s mother escorted pups Zoey and Teddy down to the alter as well. The bride’s fresh bouquet, the warm light coming through our bay doors along with the floating candles, (and the happy newlyweds kissing as they exited), made for a picture-perfect ceremony.

The Details

From May of 2020, to September of 2020 to May of 2021, these two remained flexible and optimistic and it paid off.

The couple had signature drinks named after their dogs Zoey and Teddy, as well as corn hole and a giant connect 4 game for guests to enjoy. Guests took advantage of roaming indoors and out. Local ice cream favorite Two Roosters brought their ice cream cart for a treat later in the evening.

Maggie gave her dad a tie with a heart shaped picture of them saying “I loved you first” as a gift to wear for the wedding day. She also gave her mom a charm bracelet with a picture of her saying “always your little girl.” Little touches and details like that were everywhere.

The Party

And by The Party, we mean The Reception! The couple entered wearing sunglasses and already dancing, which pretty well set the tone for the evening. Their first official dance had a fabulous spin in it as well. Bride Maggie and her father also danced together in what started as a formal dance, but ended with a fun twist that got everyone else on the dance floor.

The final send off was as sparkly as the couple and put a cap on a fabulous day. Congratulations to Maggie and Kevin for finally making it to Husband and Wife!
