Keisha and James

June 29, 2022 by Chatham Station

January 30th of this year saw the uniting of two beautiful families, and Chatham Station had the privilege of hosting and witnessing their new year nuptials.

A Family Affair

This day was not just about celebrating the union of Keisha and James but also their combined new family, including James’ son and daughter, and Keisha’s two daughters. We love a wedding that multiplies the joy with extra players… it was intimate and yet felt like an event. Keisha and James were keen to make sure the kids felt involved.

Prep Time!

Kiesha, along with her mom and daughters, got dressed and enjoyed some girl time in our bridal suite. Keisha wore a lace gown with an open back, lace illusion side cutouts, and a beautiful train. With her hair, jewelry, flowers and big smile, she was a knockout bride.

The Ceremony

Keisha’s father walked her down the aisle, where James was sporting an enormous smile. James and Keisha said their vows in front of our expansive brick wall (a favorite of brides and grooms) and they decorated the alter space with a massive array of blooms and greenery.

The couple had each of their children participate in a sand pouring ceremony to unite the families – with each member of the family adding their own individually colored sand. It was a lovely visual metaphor.

The newlyweds walked back down the aisle followed directly by their children to the song “We are Family.”

The ceremony space was replete with florals and the effect was spectacular. Aisles were marked with floral hoops, and then lined with floral arrangements. The epic floral backdrop for the vows was later repurposed for the couple’s table for the reception.

The Reception

While the most prominent colors were purple and gold, the florals were a collection of roses in pale pink, peach, light purple, and white, combined with light blooms and fresh greenery. This wedding also had a “Our Greatest Adventure” theme and guests were seated at tables featuring favorite or special locations that the couple had traveled to together.

The reception space was set up using elegant farm tables with golden legs, and tables held a few extra touches including a collection of gold candle holders, floral arrangements, gold rimmed chargers, menus, and table markers.

Keisha enjoyed both dances with her husband James as well as with her dad before dinner. After dinner, they cut their cake on a table featuring pictures of their parents. Guests enjoyed the rest of the evening at the photo booth and dancing and moved outside to heated seating areas or enjoyed the lounge set up inside.

While Keisha had beautiful white heels for the ceremony, she traded them out for comfortable purple and black jordans for the reception that matched James’ shoes!

All the best to Keisha, James and their beautiful family. Chatham Station loved hosting your incredible wedding and wish you many happy years ahead.

Odofoley & Ron

June 15, 2022 by Chatham Station

Odofoley and Ron planned a gorgeous morning wedding, and on the morning of New Year’s Eve at Chatham Station, they were wed! The decor was complete with touches of gold, black, white and rich red, but the atmosphere was magic. It was an intimate and elegant ceremony followed by brunch, where everyone celebrated this beautiful couple.

Odofoley’s gown had lace details on the bodice and sleeves, a jeweled belt, and a chiffon skirt. It was perfect for a winter wedding, and everyone kept talking about her sleeves. The wedding flowers were a collection of blooms including white roses, calla lilies and greenery, and Odofoley’s bouquet was not only exquisite, but the blooms matched the lace on her gown. The effect was lovely.

The Ceremony

The golden backdrop with cascading lights was absolutely perfect for these two on the last day of the year. Everything was awash in golden light. Even with an intimate group of attendees spread out, and everyone masked, the ceremony was everything you’d want – sweet, celebratory and heart-felt.

The Brunch Reception

For their small guest list, we divided the ceremony space from the reception space with a curtain that created a greater sense of intimacy. And these two were Covid-conscious, providing personalized masks with their names on them for each guest.

The space looked amazing as well, with a gold backdrop of cascading light, table-scapes with gold chargers, red napkins, and menus.

While this was a brunch wedding, it included all the customary traditions like a cocktail hour with passed appetizers, a lovely first dance to the song “Spend My Life with You,” and cake-cutting. It was clear that the couple was so focused on each other that it was like no one else was in the room. In addition to wedding cake the couple had a variety of fun cupcake flavors for guests to enjoy.

Odofoley and Ron, along with photographer Martha Smith Tillery, were able to get stunning pictures in front of Town Hall and the Court House here in Cary, still decorated from the Christmas holidays. They also took advantage of one of our favorite spots: the theatre marquee! They even had their names placed for the occasion.

A Swanky Exit

Ready for 2022 as newlyweds, these two departed Chatham Station in style, and by style, we mean a Rolls Royce. Guests sent them off with cheers and mini confetti poppers. Congratulations, Odofoley and Ron! Here’s to many happy decades of marriage and days of joy.

Emily & Daniel

May 11, 2022 by Chatham Station

We loved hosting Emily and Daniel’s nuptials at Chatham Station on August 21, 2021. Between the palette and this adorable couple, the lighting and the fabulous photography, it was a glorious summer wedding!

Preparations

Emily’s dress was a stunner! An off the shoulder, flowing chiffon gown with partial sleeves and lace embellishments on the bodice, it was captured by the photographer and videographer prior to the ceremony. Emily also wore a mid length veil that allowed for some fabulous images as well.

Bridal portraits at the main entrance and garage doors were beautiful, and Emily was able to fit in a bunch of fun first looks starting off with her bridesmaids who where ecstatic to see her all dressed up.

Her father was next and he presented her with her “something blue,” a blue diamond bracelet. Finally, and most importantly, Emily and Daniel had a private first look that captured how thrilled they were to see each other before saying their vows. They looked like models at a photo shoot!

The Ceremony

After the flurry of preparations, first looks and photos, it was time for Emily’s father to escort her down the aisle.

The ceremony faced the fan wall with the Chatham Station herringbone backdrop draped with greenery and white flowers. Dan was moved as Emily came down the aisle even through he had previously seen her.

Following the wedding, Emily and Dan got amazing couple photos down the street from Chatham at the cinema and a mural downtown.

The Reception & Details

The monochromatic palette contained green accents (see bridesmaids, table runners, greenery and the groomsmen’s ties), but there was also plenty of lovely evening natural light. Dan and Emily shared their first dance at sunset and enjoyed the rest of the evening talking with guests, dancing, toasting and finding little moments alone together to soak up the day.

Congratulations, Emily and Dan! We wish you nothing but health, happiness, joy and adventure ahead!

Landen & Austin

April 27, 2022 by Chatham Station

Landen and Austin were the most fun couple to work with, and not only did they know what kind of wedding and party they wanted, these two know how to have a good time. We couldn’t wait to host them at Chatham Station. They were an absolute blast to have at our venue!

The pair were married in October of 2021 and their ceremony and day held all of the gorgeous autumnal wedding colors and elements, but with this couple’s splashes of style and detail.

First Looks & Private Moments

Landen and her father shared a lovely, emotional first look before he walked her down the aisle. She also shared a quiet first moment with Austin, when the couple were able to sneak away to read their personal vows alone before the big ceremony. They laughed and teared up together.

The Ceremony

The couple said their vows facing our herringbone backdrop, flanked with whimsical flowers matching the bride’s bouquet. For the reception, Chatham looked beautiful with black table linens, candle sticks, and florals. We even included specifically placed white pumpkins to bring in another element of fall.

The bride carried a bouquet that was a freeform collaboration of colors and blooms. Her bridesmaids dresses – like each bloom – made it into her arrangement with harmony. It was clever and elegant.

After the ceremony, they took photos on the streets surrounding Chatham Station and at the train tracks and even got a fun shot with the train!

The Party & Details

The bride wore cute TOMS wedge sandals for the ceremony and photos, and later changed into white wedding themed crocks to ensure she would be comfortable to dance throughout the evening.

The couple’s first dance, underneath the patio lights and after the sunset. made for a lovely moment.

At the end of the evening there were touches of Halloween to celebrate this fall extravaganza, including novelty fangs that were passed out with “Fangs for Coming.” Some guests even attended the reception after donning Halloween costumes.

The last smooch of the night was during a sparkler send-off, with Landen dipping Austin for a kiss this time.

Serenity & Jeremy

April 13, 2022 by Chatham Station

Dear Wedding Fans!
Below is the final flourish: a reception one year after the original I Dos.

Serenity and Jeremy tied the knot at Chatham Station, and one year later, they returned to have the reception they wanted and deserved. These two were married in 2020, and due to the pandemic, they hosted 30 friends and family for a lovely, if not small, ceremony.

The Wedding – 2020

One upside of their small wedding was their ability to great shots of themselves outside in downtown Cary. And yes, we are back indeed!

See the entire wedding blog for Serenity and Jeremy.

The Reception – 2021

Even after a year, Serenity and Jeremy were filled with playfulness and excitement to see each other and their guests. They kept it simple and elegant with white linens, black napkins and soft greenery.

As guests arrived, the couple greeted and captured photos with them. There was such an element of celebration in everything. While this delayed reception was due to Covid, the results were big, inclusive and joyful.

The day included all the traditional celebrations, like first dances, toasts, cake cutting, and the bride’s bouquet toss. It was both a reception and a Happy Anniversary party like no other.

These two had fun during the cake cutting, putting frosting in each other’s faces. Serenity and her dad also shared a sweet moment during their father daughter dance.

During the evening, there was of course, more dancing, more toasts and even later the glowsticks came out. It was a party.

The night ended with a final song, punctuated with a sparkler exit. Serenity and Jeremy exited in a party bus!

Antoinette & David

March 30, 2022 by Chatham Station

Antoinette and David met after both tried unsuccessfully to avoid a trip with mutual friend to Dan River. No offense to Dan; he actually becomes a hero in this story, but insisting that they go. And that trip began their romance. In October of 2021, they made it official, as husband and wife.

These two are such a wonderful, family-oriented couple and their wedding day at Chatham Station felt that way. The couple relocated to Maryland not long before the wedding, but returned to celebrate the occasion with family and friends. There was so much inclusion and warmth.

Antionette’s mom helped her get ready and into her dress in our suite, and then the bride shared a first look with her dad, followed by her brothers. Antoinette is a triplet and seeing her brothers so excited for her was wonderful.

Antoinette made a gorgeous bride. Her dress had cut outs and lots of lace detailing, and she completed the look with a special hair clip and jewelry. She was a knockout!

The Ceremony

Walked down the aisle by her brothers and followed by her son, Antoinette made her way to David for their vows on our outdoor patio. Antoinette’s father officiated the ceremony. The couple also included their daughter, who acted as their flower girl. Their newborn son wore the cutest tux. It was family, family, family and absolutely glorious.

Details

The herringbone backdrop used for the ceremony was repurposed for the reception indoors, and the newlyweds made sure to include their daughter Harper at the table with them. Harper danced with her dad to “Baby Shark” and she was a hit, spinning around on the dance floor. There were also the expected dances with father and daughter and the couple’s first dance. The emerald green and white wedding colors were carried into table linens, and made everything pop. You cannot beat simplicity in a wedding palette.

The wedding party was absolutely fantastic! The photographer grabbed shots of the crew at various spots around Chatham Station. For a Monday night wedding, this party continued well into the night with dancing, laughter and more time with family.
