Keisha and James

June 29, 2022 by Chatham Station

January 30th of this year saw the uniting of two beautiful families, and Chatham Station had the privilege of hosting and witnessing their new year nuptials.

A Family Affair

This day was not just about celebrating the union of Keisha and James but also their combined new family, including James’ son and daughter, and Keisha’s two daughters. We love a wedding that multiplies the joy with extra players… it was intimate and yet felt like an event. Keisha and James were keen to make sure the kids felt involved.

Prep Time!

Kiesha, along with her mom and daughters, got dressed and enjoyed some girl time in our bridal suite. Keisha wore a lace gown with an open back, lace illusion side cutouts, and a beautiful train. With her hair, jewelry, flowers and big smile, she was a knockout bride.

The Ceremony

Keisha’s father walked her down the aisle, where James was sporting an enormous smile. James and Keisha said their vows in front of our expansive brick wall (a favorite of brides and grooms) and they decorated the alter space with a massive array of blooms and greenery.

The couple had each of their children participate in a sand pouring ceremony to unite the families – with each member of the family adding their own individually colored sand. It was a lovely visual metaphor.

The newlyweds walked back down the aisle followed directly by their children to the song “We are Family.”

The ceremony space was replete with florals and the effect was spectacular. Aisles were marked with floral hoops, and then lined with floral arrangements. The epic floral backdrop for the vows was later repurposed for the couple’s table for the reception.

The Reception

While the most prominent colors were purple and gold, the florals were a collection of roses in pale pink, peach, light purple, and white, combined with light blooms and fresh greenery. This wedding also had a “Our Greatest Adventure” theme and guests were seated at tables featuring favorite or special locations that the couple had traveled to together.

The reception space was set up using elegant farm tables with golden legs, and tables held a few extra touches including a collection of gold candle holders, floral arrangements, gold rimmed chargers, menus, and table markers.

Keisha enjoyed both dances with her husband James as well as with her dad before dinner. After dinner, they cut their cake on a table featuring pictures of their parents. Guests enjoyed the rest of the evening at the photo booth and dancing and moved outside to heated seating areas or enjoyed the lounge set up inside.

While Keisha had beautiful white heels for the ceremony, she traded them out for comfortable purple and black jordans for the reception that matched James’ shoes!

All the best to Keisha, James and their beautiful family. Chatham Station loved hosting your incredible wedding and wish you many happy years ahead.

The newlyweds and Chatham Station are happy to share the vendor list.

Odofoley & Ron

June 15, 2022 by Chatham Station

Odofoley and Ron planned a gorgeous morning wedding, and on the morning of New Year’s Eve at Chatham Station, they were wed! The decor was complete with touches of gold, black, white and rich red, but the atmosphere was magic. It was an intimate and elegant ceremony followed by brunch, where everyone celebrated this beautiful couple.

Odofoley’s gown had lace details on the bodice and sleeves, a jeweled belt, and a chiffon skirt. It was perfect for a winter wedding, and everyone kept talking about her sleeves. The wedding flowers were a collection of blooms including white roses, calla lilies and greenery, and Odofoley’s bouquet was not only exquisite, but the blooms matched the lace on her gown. The effect was lovely.

The Ceremony

The golden backdrop with cascading lights was absolutely perfect for these two on the last day of the year. Everything was awash in golden light. Even with an intimate group of attendees spread out, and everyone masked, the ceremony was everything you’d want – sweet, celebratory and heart-felt.

The Brunch Reception

For their small guest list, we divided the ceremony space from the reception space with a curtain that created a greater sense of intimacy. And these two were Covid-conscious, providing personalized masks with their names on them for each guest.

The space looked amazing as well, with a gold backdrop of cascading light, table-scapes with gold chargers, red napkins, and menus.

While this was a brunch wedding, it included all the customary traditions like a cocktail hour with passed appetizers, a lovely first dance to the song “Spend My Life with You,” and cake-cutting. It was clear that the couple was so focused on each other that it was like no one else was in the room. In addition to wedding cake the couple had a variety of fun cupcake flavors for guests to enjoy.

Odofoley and Ron, along with photographer Martha Smith Tillery, were able to get stunning pictures in front of Town Hall and the Court House here in Cary, still decorated from the Christmas holidays. They also took advantage of one of our favorite spots: the theatre marquee! They even had their names placed for the occasion.

A Swanky Exit

Ready for 2022 as newlyweds, these two departed Chatham Station in style, and by style, we mean a Rolls Royce. Guests sent them off with cheers and mini confetti poppers. Congratulations, Odofoley and Ron! Here’s to many happy decades of marriage and days of joy.

Antoinette & David

March 30, 2022 by Chatham Station

Antoinette and David met after both tried unsuccessfully to avoid a trip with mutual friend to Dan River. No offense to Dan; he actually becomes a hero in this story, but insisting that they go. And that trip began their romance. In October of 2021, they made it official, as husband and wife.

These two are such a wonderful, family-oriented couple and their wedding day at Chatham Station felt that way. The couple relocated to Maryland not long before the wedding, but returned to celebrate the occasion with family and friends. There was so much inclusion and warmth.

Antionette’s mom helped her get ready and into her dress in our suite, and then the bride shared a first look with her dad, followed by her brothers. Antoinette is a triplet and seeing her brothers so excited for her was wonderful.

Antoinette made a gorgeous bride. Her dress had cut outs and lots of lace detailing, and she completed the look with a special hair clip and jewelry. She was a knockout!

The Ceremony

Walked down the aisle by her brothers and followed by her son, Antoinette made her way to David for their vows on our outdoor patio. Antoinette’s father officiated the ceremony. The couple also included their daughter, who acted as their flower girl. Their newborn son wore the cutest tux. It was family, family, family and absolutely glorious.

Details

The herringbone backdrop used for the ceremony was repurposed for the reception indoors, and the newlyweds made sure to include their daughter Harper at the table with them. Harper danced with her dad to “Baby Shark” and she was a hit, spinning around on the dance floor. There were also the expected dances with father and daughter and the couple’s first dance. The emerald green and white wedding colors were carried into table linens, and made everything pop. You cannot beat simplicity in a wedding palette.

The wedding party was absolutely fantastic! The photographer grabbed shots of the crew at various spots around Chatham Station. For a Monday night wedding, this party continued well into the night with dancing, laughter and more time with family.

Samantha & Jason

March 9, 2022 by Chatham Station

Engaged in April, this couple was ready and excited to be married in October of 2021. Samantha and Jason are so incredibly sweet as a couple. The connection between the two was evident and we appreciated how careful they were with their vendors, guests and each other. We LOVED hosting their big day.

As Samantha was walking to her first look with Jason, she was beaming about how excited she was to see him, and what “a good one” he was.

The couple exchanged gifts prior to the first look. Jason wrote a sweet note that brought Samantha to tears. Samantha wrote Jason a letter, and gifted him a personalized map of the United States for them to track their travels together.

Bennett “Benny” – the couple’s dog – was part of the day, and he was able to sneak into some pictures before the ceremony. We love that he was included and brought an extra bit of joy with him.

Their wedding arbor was handmade by Jason’s father and once banked with flowers, it was a gorgeous and personal feature.

The Details

Pizza has always been involved in big moments of Samantha and Jason’s relationship, so it was important to include it on their wedding day. So, prior to the ceremony, Samantha surprised Jason with pizza for him and the wedding party to enjoy.

The wedding party was so fun and had great energy. Their photographer got wonderful shots around Chatham Station, near the tracks and beautiful images of the party after the wedding.

Samantha and Jason made it a priority to walk around the room at their reception and have personal conversations throughout the night. They also still had time to make dancing a priority and have a great time! The couple danced to “One of the Good Ones” by Gabby Barrett for their first dance.

The florals were white with touches of blue. Other elegant details included floating candle centerpieces and lantern centerpieces on the cocktail tables.

At the end of the ceremony the couple had a bubble send off.

Michelle & Helen

February 9, 2022 by Chatham Station

The Couple

Our team at Chatham Station LOVED working with and hosting this beautiful couple for their wedding day. Both Michelle and Helen were so sweet, so considerate and absolutely present for every single one of their guests. One take away that we loved from watching these two: make an effort to include everyone in the day and really celebrate the sense of joy of togetherness on what is a pretty big milestone.

On this beautiful October day, the couple and their wedding party enjoyed lunch downtown as a group, and then came to Chatham Station to soak in all the views and wedding preparations. Everyone was so relaxed, choosing to hang out and take in the little moments before getting ready.

Later, even though the had seen each other for lunch, Michelle and Helen wanted to have a First Look in their wedding attire. Helen was dancing waiting for Michelle to arrive. It was the sweetest moment.

A First Look

The Ceremony

Theirs was a ceremony on the patio that was perfectly lit by the natural sunlight. Our beautiful herringbone backdrop was draped with linens and florals, and surrounded by their two closest friends, and watched by their nearest and dearest, they said “I Do.”

Helen walked down the aisle halfway and then waited for Michelle to join her and then walked down the aisle together to have a special moment as a couple.

As they exchanged vows, laughs and happy tears were shed.

The Details

Guest were treated to homemade favors from Michelle and Helen, who also decorated heart shaped sugar cookies and even little dog treats to go home for furry friends. The red, white and blue wedding colors were incorporated in decor, their attire, florals and throughout.

Each bride had white and red elements, but our favorite details were the Oxford brogues and wingtips each wore. They looked so happy – and so seriously cool – dancing at the reception!

The Party

Their reception really did feel like a party. They had a flowing indoor/outdoor cocktail hour with delicious hors d’oeuvres, and then opted for heavy appetizer stations instead of a traditional dinner or buffet. It was a perfect swap and guests were full, but not too full to dance. Guests were on the floor all night. The DJ – DJ Ones – joined in on the fun too, entering on roller skates, per the couples request! He danced with the brides and their guests, and it was wonderful.

Congratulations Michelle and Helen!! We already know that you’re going to have a fun marriage and life together, and we’re so happy for you.

Courtney & Jeff

December 8, 2021 by Chatham Station

Covid-19 may have created difficulties, but it was NOT going to keep Courtney and Jeff from saying “I Do” and beginning their lives together as husband and wife. So, they planned an intimate wedding with only 30 guests that was live-streamed to others unable to attend in person.

The Preparation

Jeff and his dapper groomsmen got ready and then stopped at the Sidebar for a drink and toast before heading over to Chatham. Courtney had help from her mom and while getting ready, she received a gift from Jeff and even delivered by him. It was a sweet note and a pair of gorgeous earrings. Since we were still quite in the middle of the pandemic, personalized masks were given out for guests to use, with Courtney and Jeff’s initials and wedding date.

Courtney’s dress was an off-the-shoulder gown with lace bodice and removable lace sleeves, and a full satin skirt that was spectacular when she spun around. Once completely dressed, she had a first look with her bridesmaids, then Jeff and her father. Jeff was visually moved when he saw her. His enormous smile turned to tears.

We have to mention this couple’s heavenly palette and atmospherics for the small wedding. Their colors were gray, sage, mint, gold, white, and pink and these worked harmoniously throughout – from decor to attire, from florals to linens. They had beautiful roses in pinks and whites with touches of greenery for table centerpieces and bouquets and the wedding party looked amazing.

The Ceremony

Courtney and Jeff were each escorted down the aisle by both of their parents, preceded by two sweet flower girls and a ring security agent who donned sunglasses and carried a briefcase. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with the couple exchanging personal vows during the ceremony.

Courtney and Jeff looked so happy coming back down the aisle as husband and wife. The light came in through our bay doors, shining sun on the lanterns, floral arrangements and beautiful couple as they exited.

The Details & Reception

The newlyweds took a little time for themselves during a private cocktail hour that allowed them to breathe and soak in their new titles. These music lovers made it possible for everyone else to enjoy the relaxing vibe, too. The soft retro music created wonderful atmosphere.

Guest enjoyed a plated meal, followed by goodies from the S’mores Bar from City BBQ. Courtney sang a cappella with family members before cutting the cake, choosing “Good Day for Marrying You” to drive home the point! These two are fantastic dancers, so even with the major Covid restrictions, they managed to get everyone dancing.

Guests signed a globe for the guestbook, and there was a fun kids’ table set up with games and toys for younger attendees. Courtney also had fun favors, including personalized wine glasses which were set at each table along with personalized koozies.

At the end of the night they left the dance floor to “Last Dance” by Donna Sommer, and their sparkler send off was a perfect way to wrap the party! Congratulations Courtney and Jeff!
